Featuring Robby Ray on the final guitar solo
lyrics
Blinded by the sun
My eyes open up for no one
Blinded by the truth
Remember when I had my fun
The haze in my gaze can't see past my days of youth
Every inch down the drain that I see
All the irony you inflict on me
All the burnt bridges, you cannot fall back
I'm waiting for the grim reaper to call back
Reaper shoved me in, then he grinned and closed the door
I find solace unconscious layed out on my floor
It's taunting me, it's haunting me down to my core.
Fresh in my thoughts when I wake, I can't fake it anymore.
The voice in my head is infected and broken
I've inflicted these wounds
Now the floodgates have opened
The itch I can't scratch, the insatiable urge
And fear that spreads and binds and webs us sheep among the herd
All my old hiding spots have been exhausted.
Thriving off the odds, a breed of it's own kind
I have fallen through the cracks too many times
Pondering the human nature of wondering why
Eventually every creatures luck will have to run dry

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
