Trails of light
I stop to ask if everything's alright. Mouth agape, bitter end to a sweet escape
Promise tomorrow, lest we forget. No nevermind, I'm not ready quite yet. And where is the line?
The medic is here down on his knees
Empty head in which I seize
White in the face, I begin to convulse. Follow the light, and find my pulse
I hear but I don't follow
Caught in my throat and blurred like the line
The days they run together
Dramatic irony has put me on the ground
Flock the here, I can't pinpoint any voice I heard
Are they within my head?
So far behind in my hospital bed
Don't promise tomorrow
I will not fret
Where is the line?
Far too late to place your bet
Complacent fear, down on my knees
Empty head in which I seize
I lost the race
Fear stricken humble
Blissful haze has began to crumble
I steal life I don't borrow
You will not find a breed of my kind
The words that run together
Follow the light and follow the sounds

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
